Global experiences can be an integral part of university education, not just the cherry on top. It is a time for experiential learning and self-discovery different from what you will find in your hometown or in Chapel Hill. Research attests to the value of a global education. 97% of study abroad participants secure a job within 12 months of graduation, compared with 49% of all other college graduates. 59% of employers think Study Abroad or other international experience would be valuable to an individual’s career prospects.

Even so, it is difficult to quantify the precise value of a global education. Are global experiences truly beneficial, or are they just a vacation in disguise? Rather than provide our own defense of a global education, here are some parent and student testimonials.
