Study Abroad General Scholarships

UNC-CH students accepted into any of the programs offered through the UNC-CH Study Abroad Office are eligible to apply for the Study Abroad Award. The awards are based primarily, but not exclusively, on financial need. The awards originate from both endowed scholarship funds and from monetary gifts to a Study Abroad Awards fund. If you receive an award you will be given the name of the donor(s) that made your award possible. We ask that you correspond with the donor(s) upon receipt of your award, and once while you are overseas.Additionally, scholarship recipients are expected to represent the Study Abroad Office at four different study abroad events upon their return. You will be asked to share your study abroad experience with prospective or accepted students at events such as study abroad fairs, pre-departure meetings, dormitory presentations, and general and/or program specific information sessions. A schedule of dates and times will be provided to you so you can commit to your four events in advance.
