Description
The American Research Institute in Turkey will offer approximately 18 fellowships for intensive advanced Turkish language study at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul. The program offers the equivalent of one full academic year of study in Turkish at the college level.
The fellowship covers round-trip airfare to Istanbul, application and tuition fees, and a maintenance stipend. The program requires approximately a few hours of online orientation activities and other preparation before leaving, followed by further orientation upon arrival in Turkey. The courses taken in Turkey will be conducted in Turkish for twenty hours per week. This program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Post-Secondary Education, the American Association of Teachers of Turkic Languages, and Georgetown University.
