C-STEP Internship Stipend

In order to be competitive in the job market most students understand that they need to participate in an internship or internships in their chosen field before they graduate. However, sometimes those internships are unpaid. This is challenging for any student, and particularly challenging to the C-STEP student who may feel like they need summer school or have other financial commitments that don’t allow them to take an unpaid internship. C-Step Funding Information Online applications, as well as other required materials, are due at UCS, 2nd floor Hanes Hall, no later than 5pm on due date. Applicants will be notified of their status two to three weeks later.

Who May Apply? All UNC-CH undergraduate students who are C-STEP students, returning in the upcoming fall semester, and who have obtained an unpaid internship are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to C-STEP rising seniors graduating the year following their application submission. Stipends will be awarded to students based on the strength of their qualifications, proposals, and letters of reference. Proposals will be judged on their educational and career value and feasibility.
