Description

There are no requirements for course of study (major) at university or college for either the ALT or CIR position. CIR applicants must have advanced Japanese ability. All majors are welcome to apply provided applicants meet all other criteria mentioned below pertaining to the position for which they are applying.The above notwithstanding, all applicants must: Be interested in Japan and be willing to deepen their knowledge and appreciation of Japan after their arrival; be motivated to participate in and initiate international exchange activities in the local community; make effort to study or continue studying the Japanese language prior to and after arriving in Japan; Be both mentally and physically healthy; Have the ability to adapt to living and working conditions in Japan, which could be significantly different from the applicant’s home country, and be able to responsibly complete the term of appointment; Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree or obtain such qualifications by the designated date prior to departure; (ALT applicants may alternatively hold a certification of completion of three-year course to teach at primary/elementary or secondary schools)
